About Brian

Thank you for visiting my blog!  I hope you find my posts helpful as you navigate your own job search.

I'm always looking for new topics, ideas or tips on what's going on in the marketplace.  Please feel free to leave suggestions in the comments section, or by emailing me at brian@brianbatchelder.com.

I started this blog to share my thoughts and advice on many networking and job search situations that I have faced in my own career.

I currently serve as a senior recruiter for a global public relations firm, and get to work on mid and senior-level positions across North America and overseas.

Prior to my current role, I worked at American University as the Asst. Director of Employer Outreach.  Essentially, my role was to build strategic partnerships with FORTUNE 500 companies (who did not recruit at AU) and coach our top students on networking and interview prep.

My first few years as a professional were spent in PR roles with the New England Patriots and Fleishman-Hillard.

I currently live in Alexandria, VA a few miles from downtown D.C.  I'm an avid sports fan and follow all of the Boston teams (my home town), as well as Syracuse (my alma mater).

I also try to see at least a dozen movies in the theaters each year and read at least a book every month (non-fiction, business, self-development, typically...).

My latest passion is craft beer and I have become a big fan of IPAs.

I'd love to hear from you.  Drop me a note!
